Last Sunday, Spare Leash and The Pearl had the honor of hosting the first, Action for Animals Charity Gala honoring some of Shanghai’s leading rescue organizations. For one night we got to celebrate and thank them for what they do for the animals in need every single day. Everything from the live music, jaw dropping shows, awards, down to the delicious free flow made it a memorable night for us all.
With over 150 people in attendance on the night and a raffle packed with amazing prizes after cost we managed to raise RMB 46,429.95 that we will be donating to the rescue groups.
Now that we have a blueprint for creating an amazing, community-centered celebration of our cherished rescue groups, we hope to continue Action for Animals in the future. Our goal is to collaborate with coordinators from the various animal groups to expand our reach and vision so that we can continue to ensure that every animal rescue group that Spare Leash partners with has the resources they need and gets the recognition they deserve.
We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone that helped make Action For Animals the success it was. We could not have done it without you!
Quick note from our CEO:
As a lot of you know when it comes to my charity events I am very big on transparency. So wanted to make sure to leave a little note addressed to everyone who donated to me personally and at the event. When I first began planning for this event, I knew that I would need additional support to make sure that the vision that the Spare Leash team and I had for this event was brought to fruition. To that end, I reached out to someone who I knew had experience with projects and events and who could provide helpful contacts and support though-out the planning and implementation process, which happened to be another fellow rescuer, Courtney from Eleventh Hour Rescues.
When she came on board with the event, it was agreed that Eleventh Hour would receive 50% of the ticket sales in recognition of the many hours, and limitless energy she would commit to ensuring the event was a success. The remaining proceeds from tickets and raffle sales would be split equally amongst the charities. To see a breakdown or proof of transfers please know you can always reach out to me personally.
I want to give a super special shout out not only to Courtney but also her husband Matt who gave his full support leading up to and during the event.
Lastly, thanks again to everyone who came out, who donated and who continues to support Spare Leash and our rescue initiatives.
